Uchenna is a university lecturer, with a doctoral degree in environmental forest ecology. He is an international development professional with over 17 years experiences in social development work and has worked at least once in each of the 36 Nigerian states as an Independent Consultant, providing services in Environmental Management, Community and Health Systems Strengthening, Health Management Information System, Development/Analysis of Policies, Monitoring & Evaluation, Baseline Studies, and Impact and Partnership Assessments. Additionally, he has provided development consultancy services in India, Nepal, United States of America, Rwanda, Cameroon, United Kingdom and Namibia.

Recently, he participated as the Nigerian representative in a global research project on ‘Developing indicators of Peace,” funded and organized by Future Generations University in collaboration with the United States Institute of Peace. He was the Team Lead/Project Co-ordinator of state-wide Monitoring and Evaluation Consultancy Services for the 2010/2011/2012 Debt Relief Gains (DRG) Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) funded Projects and Programmes in Niger State, Nigeria. He has also provided technical assistance (TA) as a national consultant to several development projects in Nigeria. He was an International Health Consultant for Assessment and Evaluation of a Sure Start Center in Liverpool, United Kingdom, carried-out operations research (OR) for different programmes (Evaluation of Provision of drinking water and health-care service in rural Hyderabad, India). Uchenna’s skills include an in-depth understanding of community working systems in developing countries, linking policy analysis and emerging issues to plans, and understanding of pro-poor and gender issues in development.
